DYING DAILY

Manual scavenging, well the filthyness carried with this term needs to be coined up..
Manual scavenging refers to the practice of removing human and animal waste/excreta using a broom, tin plates and basket from dry latrines and carrying it on the head to disposal grounds some distance away. A manual scavenger is the person who does the job of carrying this filth, mainly done by dalit womens and girls.. this marginalized community are the untouchable scheduled caste people's who have renamed themselves as dalit which means broken/scattered well they have literally been so..!!
An organization working with manual scavengers reported that there are 13 lack people from dalit community who continue to be employed in this job in this country and who work in 96 lack private and community dry latrines managed by municipalities such a sadistic job one can do...😑
Well many of them are available like entering a sewer line, cleaning it with your hands.. even thinking of it lefts you feel like vomiting, imagine how it feels to them who do it daily.
They are exposed to subhuman conditions of work and face serious health hazards.. they are constantly exposed to infections that affect their eyes, skin, respiratory and gastro intestinal systems and the wages well you'll be shocked after knowing it JUST 30-40 Rs a day..!! And if working privately you can get much less of this.. I mean how poor we are it can be established from the fact Below..
Industries from all over the world come India Cz here people can work at any cost there extremes are pushed and pushed hard every single day.. but who worries ordinary person in another country will work for 8 hours a day Indian's can do it 12 hours for a sum of money which is not even sufficient to get them a better breakfast...!!
Well untouchability has been abolished years before.. however manual scavengers in different parts of the country the bhangis in Gujarat, pakhis in Andhra and sikkalians in Tamil Nadu continue to be considered as untouchables they live in separate settlements on the outskirts of the village and are denied access to the temple, public water etc
In 1993 govt passed the employment of manual scavengers and construction of dry latrines prohibition act, this law prohibits the employment of manual scavengers as well as construction of dry latrines. In 2003 some 13 odd organizations including 7 scavengers filed a PIL in supreme Court complaining that manual scavenging still exists and it continued in govt undertakings like the railways.
The petitioners sought enforcement of their fundamental rights the court observed that number of manual scavengers increased since 1993 law enacted, the government ordered to verify the fact within 6 months and if it found to exist then the department has to actively take up a time bound programme for their liberation and rehabilitation.
Statistics reveals another reality..
In 2013 after the prohibition law was again enacted, the govt recognized 12742 manual scavengers in 13 States
The death of a sanitation worker while cleaning a sewer line bought up the spot light back on to this matter and a question mark too.. over it's credibility..!!
I think this can never be ended even the supreme Court failed to prohibit it.
Today I'm putting up a solution to this problem these manual scavengers must be replaced by all of them who are kept beside bars, bearing charges of rape and molestation they need to be forced to collect this filth and clean it with their hands this will truly be the bestest punishment they can ever had... What they did deserve this sort of squalor so that they can die daily..!!
